OUR MISSION: The Sunshine Foundation: Dreams for Kids makes dreams come true for children between the ages of 3 and 18th birthday who are challenged by severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.

OUR VISION: Every Sunshine child shall live their dream.

The Sunshine Foundation of Canada was incorporated as a national charitable organization in 1987. We were established by a London, Ontario police officer who had lost his teenaged son to muscular dystrophy, and wanted other children like his son to be able to live their most cherished dream. Since our inception, Sunshine has fulfilled more than 6,500 dreams for children across Canada.

Sunshine is unique in that more than 80% of the children we serve are challenged by severe physical disabilities. Sunshine makes dreams come true for these children with the support of volunteers, sponsors and donors across Canada. Our volunteer chapters are supported by a 12-member professional staff located at our National Home Office in London, Ontario.

Sunshine organizes Individual Dream experiences for children and their families. Individual Dreams are as unique as the child who dreams them, ranging from visits with a favourite celebrity, to a family vacation, to a customized bicycle or computer. These dreams are often life-changing experiences that open up the world to a child and build self-confidence and hope for the future.

In addition to Individual Dream activities, Sunshine organizes DreamLifts from different locations across Canada that take large groups of children on a one-day whirlwind adventure to a Disney park.
