Going to Graceland!
To 16-year-old Sherwin, Elvis is more than "The
King" - he's a personal hero. Sherwin has cerebral palsy and has lived through
a lot of pain, hospital time, and over 30 surgeries. Elvis, his favourite singer,
has been his constant companion through these tough and sometimes lonely times.
Sherwin's parents collected Elvis CDs and
movies for him. He loves every song and every movie. Sherwin tells us he enjoys
Elvis more and more as he gets older, and "won't ever stop." His dream was to visit Graceland,
to learn more about Elvis Presley in his hometown.
Sherwin's dream came true with a
once-in-a-lifetime trip to Memphis.
Guided tours, a pink limousine, and even Marlowe's famous ribs made this teen's
experience something to savour. Sherwin's love of "The King" has kept him
strong, and his memories of this dream trip will be with him forever.
