“Unbelievable, really”

That’s how Rita Benefield describes the energy and positive momentum of her fellow volunteers in Sunshine’s National Capital Chapter. Over the past year, the chapter has been experiencing an influx of new energy and talent, beginning with Rita herself. After seeing a public service announcement for Sunshine on TV, Rita was moved to get involved. She especially enjoys helping with dream presentations, and seeing the reaction of Sunshine Kids and their families. “It makes it very real. There are not many charities where one gets to see the immediate impact like that.” Rita is especially proud of the teamwork shown by her chapter (“all the best people”) in organizing a Scrabble Tournament to raise funds for Sunshine.

We’re getting more excited over time, even more now than when we started.
