Another record-breaking campaign in 2009 – this partnership in support of Sunshine kids keeps getting better throughout the years!
Winners and HomeSense, in partnership with The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, raised an incredible $437,699 during the 10th annual ‘Buy Some Sunshine’ campaign. Funds raised during the month-long campaign go towards fulfilling dreams for kids throughout Canada living with severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.
The ‘Buy Some Sunshine’ campaign launched on June 8 with Associates from the 250 Winners and HomeSense store locations across Canada inviting customers to purchase a ‘sun’ decal to support dreams for Sunshine kids.
“With 250 Winners and HomeSense stores across Canada, we have a great opportunity to help raise awareness for this important organization, and to bring dreams to life for children in the communities we serve across Canada,” says Shannon Johnson, spokesperson for Winners Merchants International.
“Our Associates and customers look forward to this campaign every summer,” continues Johnson. “They are inspired by the courage and determination these kids show in facing their challenges. It is deeply rewarding for all of us to know that we can shine a light on the lives of these children by giving them some special times to cherish.”
Since 1999, Winners customers and employees have raised more than $3.5 million for Sunshine kids, bringing hope, warmth and happy memories to the lives of hundreds of children by fulfilling their most cherished dreams.
