Sunday August 23, the race date that families awaited all season long, the day where kids and adults alike descended on Clinton Raceway for an afternoon of fun, activity and of course live harness racing.
This year, Clinton Raceway teamed up with The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, to help raise funds and help make dreams come true for children in Canada with severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.
“The harness racing community is so supportive of our fundraising initiatives,” comments marketing manager for Clinton Raceway, Jessica Carnochan. “This is just another example of the difference we can make when we all come together. Working with The Sunshine Foundation on this event was a perfect fit, let’s encourage kids to help kids.” says Carnochan.
The event kicked off at post time (1:30pm) and featured a bouncy castle, paddle boats, derby horse race course, face painting, Zumba , BBQ, bake sale and more. The Hands on Horses program was on site, giving kids the chance to drive a real live race horse. All activities were by donation, allowing families to donate what they can, making it a great day for everyone.
