Daniel's Dream Presentation - WINNERS HomeSense
BC Boy Presented with Sunshine Dream of Toes in the Sand at WINNERS HomeSense
Fifteen year old Daniel, living with Chronic Kidney Disease and a Chromosome Abnormality, was presented with his customized Sunshine Dream at a public presentation on Saturday, January 30th at 3:00 pm at the WINNERS/HomeSense on Lougheed Hwy in Pitt Meadows, BC. Daniel was joined by his older brother, parents, and personal support worker at his Dream Presentation.
Daniel worked directly with the team at The Sunshine Foundation of Canada to create his very own dream-come-true journey to the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas. On his Sunshine Dream, Daniel was able to take a break from some of the challenges related to his condition and experience an adventure of trying new things, making lasting memories, and spending quality time with his family. “Standing in the warm water at the edge of a sunny beach and swimming with dolphins (in shallow water),” were at the top of Daniel’s activity list. His mom, Liliana noted that Daniel will surely love going on the waterslides at Aquaventure, Atlantis’ 141 acre water park.
Each Sunshine Child is officially presented with their unique personal Sunshine Dream at either a private or public Dream Presentation, a celebration for the Sunshine Child, his or her family, friends and community. Daniel’s family chose to celebrate his Dream Presentation publicly at their local WINNERS and HomeSense store. WINNERS and HomeSense has been a national partner to The Sunshine Foundation since 1999. Since beginning their relationship WINNERS and HomeSense has helped raise $8.6 million dollars to fulfill the most cherished dreams of Canadian children living with severe physical disabilities or life threatening illnesses from coast to coast.
“WINNERS and HomeSense are honoured to partner with The Sunshine Foundation to help raise both awareness and funds for a fantastic cause,” explained Shannon Johnson, WINNERS and HomeSense spokesperson.
