8th Annual BMO Shred-a-thon
KELOWNA, BC – On September 17, 2016, BMO Financial Group and Iron Mountain invite Kelowna residents and businesses to drop off documents for confidential shredding at the BMO Capri Centre Branch at 1141 Harvey Avenue from 9am – 2 pm at the 8th annual BMO Shred-a-thon. With a donation to The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, Iron Mountain will shred your confidential papers, with 100 per cent of all cash donations going to support Sunshine Dream Programs for kids living with severe disabilities or life threatening illnesses.
“BMO is excited to be back for the 8th annual Shred-a-thon in support of The Sunshine Foundation of Canada,” said John Duff, Regional Vice-President, Personal Banking, South Interior B.C., BMO Bank of Montreal. “The Foundation helps bring dreams to life for many children and their families in the community, and we’re proud to be a part of this initiative.”
On-site at the BMO branch will be 18-year-old Hannah from Penticton, BC, who thanks to supporters of events like the BMO Shred-a-thon, just received her Sunshine Dream come true of a brand new hand cycle that allows her to ride unassisted and unencumbered by her spina bifida. Also onsite will be Sunshine Bear, the mascot who brings a little Sunshine wherever he goes, ready to meet and greet children of all ages.
“The caring commitment of supporters like BMO is vital to our mission to make dreams come true in British Columbia and from coast to coast,” says Nancy Sutherland, CEO of The Sunshine Foundation of Canada.
“Since 1998, BMO Financial Group in Kelowna has contributed over $370,000 to our Sunshine Dream Program through employee events, the popular BMO Shred-a-Thon and the world-class BMO Okanagan Marathon. We are deeply grateful for the generous support from BMO Financial Group’s employees, senior management and customers. Thank you for making dreams come true.”
Funds raised through BMO Shred-a-thon will be officially presented to Sunshine at the BMO Okanagan Marathon taking place on October 8th- 9th at City Park.
