Tyler's UFC Debut

Tuesday, August 2, 2016

Nineteen-year-old Tyler from Waterloo, ON is an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fan beyond compare. In fact, he is such a huge fan that his ultimate goal is to one-day work as a UFC commentator, giving blow-by-blow reports for other fans like him. Last month, Sunshine was privileged to send Tyler and his family on a dream come true ultimate fan adventure  to UFC 200 in Las Vegas, NV for a week of once-in-a-lifetime fun.

During his Sunshine Dream experience, Tyler attended two UFC fights including the UFC 200 Fight Night mixed martial arts main event (which is kind of a big deal), and met UFC commentators Jon Anik and Brian Stann who helped him practice announcing the highlights. Tyler was suited up with the industry’s best tips and tricks for his UFC debut and received footage of his coverage as a keepsake from his Sunshine Dream. (Watch it below.)

Other big highlights of Tyler’s customized dream included UFC announcer Bruce Buffer reading all of Tyler’s stats while introducing him into the Octagon. Tyler and his brother spent the evening hanging out with UFC legend Forrest Griffin in the fighter’s VIP lounge to watch the fight.

Touring the MGM grand arena and meeting so many fighters was beyond special for Tyler. The UFC team were so friendly and truly made it a personalized experience for Tyler and his family. Tyler even made friends with one of his favourite fighters who offered to share his PlayStation gaming code for the game they both love to play online.

Tyler said that he kept trying to do his best UFC fight face in the photos but he was just so happy and excited that he could not stop smiling.

“We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone at the UFC for putting together such an unforgettable experience for Tyler. ‎Tyler’s VIP access to all the fighters and backstage on UFC Fight Night rocked. It meant so much that Forrest Griffin took the time just to hang out with Tyler and his brother Brandon. You are truly an amazing dude.” - With utmost appreciation, Tyler and family.
