Universal Studios Hollywood: Nathan's Movie & Oceanside Dream

Thursday, September 8, 2016

14-year-old Nathan says that there are “a million” reasons why he chose to visit Universal Studios in Hollywood for his Sunshine Dream; his love of movies and special effects is just one of them. Living with Pierre Robin Sequence, ADHD and Tourette’s, makes Nathan’s life challenging. He can only imagine what it would be like to be in the same place where some of the most terrifying stunts are filmed, to go on a ride that simulates one of his favourite movie franchises (Fast & the Furious), or to be in a sunny locale to take in his first view of the ocean.

Thanks to The Sunshine Foundation of Canada and kind supporters like WINNERS & HomeSense, Nathan’s dream is coming true. Along with his Mom, Nathan will soon visit Universal Studios so that he can experience what it’s like to walk on the sets of his favourite movies, followed by a one-day Oceanside tour that will take him from Venice beach to the Santa Monica pier – a true action-packed adventure.

Nathan’s family has chosen to celebrate his Sunshine Dream Presentation publicly at their local WINNERS & HomeSense store. He will be presented with his customized Sunshine Dream of a family trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood, California on Tuesday, September 13th at 11:00 am at the WINNERS & HomeSense store on 3225 Portland Boulevard, En face du Carrefour de L’Estrie, Sherbrooke, QC.

WINNERS and HomeSense stores have been a national partner to The Sunshine Foundation of Canada since 1999. Since beginning their relationship WINNERS and HomeSense stores have helped raise $8.6 million dollars to fulfill the most cherished dreams of Canadian children living with severe physical disabilities or life threatening illnesses from coast to coast.

“Since 1999, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our customers, we have had the privilege to help make dreams come true for children across Canada,” said Erin O’Brien, spokesperson for WINNERS & HomeSense.  “We are honoured to partner once again this year with The Sunshine Foundation to continue to help raise awareness and funds to support such a wonderful cause.”
