Windsor Corporate Challenge

Saturday, June 20, 2015

On Saturday, June 20, 2015, hundreds of Windsor participants and volunteers converged on the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex as business teams throughout Windsor took part in Windsor Corporate Challenge.

This one-day “FUNraiser” supported The Sunshine Foundation of Canada. Activities and challenges promoted teamwork, spirit and most importantly FUN!

Since 2012, the Windsor Corporate Challenge has raised net proceeds of over $170,000 for The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, not including funds raised this year.

Nine Sunshine Kids from the Windsor area were there to inspire teams in this day of friendly competition. The Sunshine Foundation of Canada made dreams come true for each of these amazing children. Fulfilling their dreams ranged from whirlwind one-day Sunshine DreamLifts to Disney World, to Sunshine Individual Dreams like meeting Corey Schneider of the New Jersey Devils and Taylor Swift, to travelling with the Windsor Spitfires to the Memorial Cup championship game in Brandon, Manitoba. Each Sunshine child returned from their Dream with more confidence, joy and a feeling of independence that carries forward in how they meet the everyday challenges in their lives.

“Windsor Corporate Challenge was created to be a fun day away from the office where corporate teams could get together and compete in a bunch of silly team building events”, says Meighen Nehme, founder of Windsor Corporate Challenge and President & CEO of The Job Shoppe. “I love seeing these major players in our community coming together for a great cause and I feel very proud to be supporting The Sunshine Foundation and the work that they do.”

“Meighen and her caring and dedicated organizing team for the Windsor Corporate Challenge have contributed so generously to The Sunshine Foundation. This event is a must see to truly witness the caring community spirit of so many in Windsor. Funds raised this year will fulfill new dreams for more Sunshine children. ” says Nancy Sutherland, CEO of The Sunshine Foundation of Canada.
