A Sweet Ride!

Zachary finally has a new set of wheels and he couldn’t be happier.

Born with Cerebral Palsy, the 16-year loves having a trike to get around his hometown of Peterborough, but he had badly outgrown his last set of wheels. After contacting Sunshine, Zach now has a specially modified trike that his grandfather Don says “is the sturdiest, toughest one you can find.”

Zach’s “Poppa,” Don, has personally modified 4 tricycles now to help his grandson, and each time learns a bit more. Zach is unable to use his right hand, and Don has carefully modified the controls on the new trike to let Zach do everything he needs with one hand. Between the custom controls and the stability of the new frame, Zach has a safer, better ride!

“He absolutely loves it. He rides every day.”

Since outgrowing his last trike, Zach plans to donate it to charity to help someone with a similar disability.
